After spotting Lamnidée for the first time on a rainy Easter Sunday in Brest's Marina du châteleau, her two wooden masts flashing between the aluminum masts and plastic boats, we were delighted to see the “À VENDRE” sign on the bow with the Brokers number.
Her unique shape and classic lines, masked the brown and green scars we saw on the hull from outside.
We contacted the broker and after a few phone calls and a good negotiation, we went back to Brest in May, determined to buy the old Lady. Our optimism was not disappointed and both the previous owner and the broker were very friendly. Now the big day had come when we wanted to see whether we could save her or not. That depended on how she looked underwater. Surprisingly, it was not possible to get to the crane... After two years of not moving a lot of shell have found a new home around the propeller. So our curiosity was delayed, it was time for diving, but a day later we were greatly rewarded.
“Congratulations Lamnidée” that means you now have two new owners.
We were very happy and on top of that we got three months Harbour for free... the previous owner was a bit ashamed of the chaotic meeting the day before and the disorganization of the inventory.
Big Merci Monsieur.
Now it was time for further planning and preparation so that we could set sails, more or less safely in August....
